Self Managed Leave
Self-managed leave is a new feature that has been introduced within the Trafio app. This feature allows your field workers to submit their leave requests for office staff to accept or reject. A new leave tab has been added within the app so that workers can see a monthly calendar view of any leave that they've requested that's been approved, rejected or still pending.
Allowing your field workers to submit leave requests is a new configurable feature that is turned off by default. While disabled, workers are able to view their leave that is inputted by the office staff and linked to a Visible by workers' leave type. Learn more about leave types here
How field workers submit leave requests from the app
Navigate to the Leave tab within the Traffio app
Select the day that is needed off
on the popup, select + Leave
Select the leave type (only available if there are leave types that are visible to workers)
Explain why you need the leave and the duration
Submit for approval
That leave will now go in an awaiting response status until the office staff accepts or rejects the leave
Approving or rejecting leave
Once a field worker has submitted a leave request from the app. It goes into the leave section of Traffio to be approved or rejected. This function can only be completed by a staff member who has the "Leave approval access" permission.
When requests do come in, and you have the Leave approval access permission on your account, you get a notification badge on the People menu item in the web app. Hovering on that badge reveals a "Pending leave requests" link.
How to approve or reject leave requests
Hover over the People tab
Select the Pending leave requests notification
Clicking this opens the Leave tab with the Status: Awaiting approval filter pre-selected.
Open the leave request
Approve or Reject the request. You're able to provide a reason for your decision here. The field worker will be able to see this reason from their app.
A push notification is sent to the worker when their leave request is approved or rejected
