October latest updates

October saw significant changes for our APP and employment management. Our APP update has allowed us to improve employee usability and pave the way for future development. The people section of the APP had significant changes to improve the work statuses of staff. Below are the changes that have been made to Traffio in the last month.

Workforce management improvements

Our workforce management now allows you to keep a better track and visualise your current employee's employment status. These statuses' work alongside the booking board to prevent the wrong employee from being put on a job.

There are two new Employment Dates, Probation Date and Active Date, found under the Employment block within each person's profile. When enabled, the default probation period will automatically calculate the active date for new employees after their Probation Date is set. The corresponding employment statuses will now be automatically selected based on these dates, preventing you from manually managing this process.

App Update

The Traffio app is essential in users ability to do their day to day jobs. That's why we've introduced new improvements to the Traffio App to help make life easier for users in the field and give employees more visibility for their upcoming jobs.

The Jobs screen has been redesigned to allow users to see a calendar bar at the top to keep track of previous and upcoming jobs. The arrow buttons enable you to go as far into the past or future as you like. This feature will also give users more visibility on the hours that they have worked.

The job screen will now show jobs one week at a time. The calendar strip will show the current working week, but the calendar stip can navigate any workweek.

For those of you who work nights or prefer it, Traffio now has a dark mode option. The app will honour your device's settings, but you can also pick your preferred theme in the settings tab. If users prefer the older version of Traffio, they can find the older layout in their settings.

Mobile Works

There is now an option to use "mobile works" on the booking overview page for bookings that require multiple site stops or locations. When turned on, office staff and field workers can add mobile worksites to the booking. App users will need to have updated their phone with the most recent update.

Each worksite has a start time, an optional location name and an optional purchase order number. Invoice line items for these bookings are different. Site start times entered through the mobile app are rounded to the nearest 15 minutes to keep invoice line items sensible. A "New bookings have mobile works" setting has been added to clients and projects, automatically turning on mobile works for new bookings.

Document purge feature

Over the last month, we have become aware that some companies are not comfortable with storing their employees vaccination certificates on their Traffio portal as they are concerned about potential privacy issues.

Taking this into account, we have developed a purge feature that deletes the document from their portal and deletes any trace of the document from the Traffio servers.

Other Changes and improvements

  • Added 42 days EOM payment terms for clients.

  • Form submissions now display the required comment question as well as the comment itself.

  • The "Use Customer's Tax Code" and (Customer) "Tax Code" settings in MYOB AccountRight are now taken into consideration when pushing invoices to MYOB. Previously, only the Tax Codes set up on your Accounts were considered. If you do not use these settings, everything will continue to work as expected.

  • You are now able to filter Birthdays, Work Anniversaries and the Skills Matrix report by Employment Status.

  • The Person History tab now displays results in a list view instead of a tile view.

  • Added a 'Straight-to-site with own transport' payroll travel allowance option.

  • Added Pronto integration for invoicing and payroll.

  • Export from payroll cost centre for co-invest calculation data (all shifts report) now includes person_id and employee reference.

  • Rain allowance config options were added to decide if the allowance is shown on email, print, and pdf views of dockets. This defaults to be not displayed.

  • Bookings starting at 6 pm will now be identified as night shift, not day shift.

  • When changing an ongoing booking's status, you can now select up to 10 additional upcoming bookings in that ongoing series to also bulk update. You can, however, bulk Cancel/Un-cancel every booking in the series.

  • Pay elements can now have letters as well as numerals in a pay code.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where invoices produced through bulk invoicing could end up with out-of-order line items.

  • Fixed an issue where form revisions were not publishing.

  • Fixed an issue where the "Stock" tab would not open.

  • The system now better handles workers submitting dockets or forms with unreliable internet connections.

  • Fixed an issue preventing the creation of new payroll cost centres.

  • Fixed the total of unsigned works dockets in the pay runs list reporting on dockets of removed pay run shifts.

  • Fixed an issue where the line item with the date, docket number and address would not be inserted into new invoices.

  • Fixed an issue that prevented a project from being applied to a new booking.
